Today was a day to stay on shore for the entire fleet as winds reached a high of 53 knots and a constant of around 36. All of the sailors had for the most part made the decision to stay on shore yesterday after seeing the final predictions. Although, we didn’t let the day go to waste, me Matthew and Taylor spent our afternoon running down the jetty dodging waves and spray until we got to the lighthouse at the end of the wall. After getting back soaked, we went to a movie and then off to dinner before calling it a day. Not a lot was accomplished in terms of sailing, but when the winds are that high, there is not a lot you can do.
Tomorrow looks like a sloppy day on the water with leftover slop from the storm and winds starting at 15 and dying all day through to Sunday where we are only supposed to have 5 knots at the most.
